Do I need to prep my lashes before I visit?

Please make sure your lashes are squeaky clean before your appointment. Remove any eye make-up and all traces of mascara. If you are having a lash infill, please make sure that you have washed and brushed your lashes prior to your appointment.

Can I have a removal of lashes applied from a different salon?

Yes of course! If you are in discomfort from lashes that have been previously applied you can visit us and we can remove them for you for a small charge. You don't have to have another set applied.

Equally you can have your lashes removed that have been applied by SCL Beauty and leave them free from extensions, we don't mind!

Can I apply mascara to my lash extensions?

Lash extensions will provide you with a look that will not require additional mascara and it is not recommended.

You may apply mascara to bottom lashes if needed but please make sure that it is NOT waterproof mascara and it is removed with a non-oily remover.

How long do lash extensions last?

By following the proper aftercare advice, your lash extensions should last you the growth cycle of your own natural lashes. Everybody is different and infills are recommended every 2 -4 weeks.

Do I need to do anything before my lash appointment?

Along with removing make-up please avoid caffeine before your appointment. 

Remove contacts if you wear them.

Dress comfortably and in layers if preferred. A blanket is always available if you get chilly!

Can I have lashes if i am pregnant?

Yes, but please be aware that you will be laying on your back for up to 2 hours.

Is there a minimum age to have lash extensions?

If you are 15 -18 you will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian and unfortunately I cannot lash anyone under the age of 15.

How do I clean my lashes after getting lash extensions?

You MUST wash your lashes regularly to prevent a build up of dirt, make-up and natural oils. 

Wash them with an oil-free cleanser using a soft, clean make-up brush. Rinse off all residue with clean water. Do not use cotton wool as the fibres will snag on your lashes.

Lash aftercare kits are available to purchase from the salon which include everything that you need to keep your lashes in the best condition.

What is the difference between Classic, Hybrid and Russian lashes?

Classic lashes are the most natural, one extension is adhered to each of your natural lashes

Hybrid lashes is a mixture of classic lashes and fans adhered to each of your natural lashes to give a fuller and fluffy look

Russian lashes are fans attached to each of your natural lashes giving you a full, dense look.

What is 'lash shedding season'?

During spring and Autumn we shed more lashes and you will find that in turn you lose your extension with it. This is quite normal at these times of year in response to temperature changes.

Generally we can shed up to 5 lashes a day. In a typical lash cycle, our eyelashes shed, grow and replace themselves every 4-8 weeks.
